Digital Skills Helper
Role:
At our busy and vibrant community centre we welcome a wide range of people to our activities, support and information. We provide free Digital Inclusion support to a range of individuals who are mainly elderly or experience stress and anxiety. As a Digital Skills Helper, your role will be to provide face-to-face, one-to-one support sessions, under supervision of the Digital Inclusion Team. You will usually be helping with online shopping, digital safety, social media, banking, access to online entertainment, video calling, etc.

- Welcome participants, putting them at ease.
- Provide support following Volunteer guidelines and maintaining data protection and online safety.
- Participate in short end of session debriefs to flag any additional support that participants (or you yourself) may need.
This role would suit someone who:
- Is comfortable working with new people
- Has a friendly manner and is able to put others at their ease
- Has good listening and communication skills
- Is open to working with people from a wide variety of different backgrounds and experiences
- Has a range of digital skills
