Gardening Volunteer

Our Gardening Volunteers have the option of volunteering within three gardening sessions between both our centres. This is on Wednesdays, from 1-3pm at the Fire Station, and either Tuesday at 10:30am-12pm or Thursday 1:30 - 3pm at the Stress Project.

Our Gardening Volunteers support the maintenance of our gardens across both centres on Tuesdays (10:30-12 at the Stress Project), Wednesdays (1-3pm at the Old Fire Station), and Thursdays (1:30-3pm at the Stress Project). 
 
Role: 

• Maintain gardens as part of a team, so that visitors can enjoy and benefit from these spaces 

• Contribute to annual planning around planning, harvesting and maintenance 

• Encourage and coach people who want to join in with the activity of gardening and learn more 

• Be flexible in order to support our entry into garden competitions and also open days. 

• Work as part of a team. 

• Follow Health and Safety guidance. 

 
This role would suit someone who: 

• Is a good team member 

• Has good listening and communication skills 

• Is open to working with people from a wide variety of different backgrounds and experiences 

•  Is happy to carry out a variety of different duties in a day 

• Has gardening knowledge and skills 

• Would like to share their knowledge and skills with others. 

• Is health and safety aware ​
