Art for Wellbeing
These FREE friendly and welcoming groups are held across our two centres. The groups are structured so that you can attend either regularly or as and when. Please attend a full session each time to get the most from the experience.
You can try out drawing, painting, creative writing, felt making, floristry, printmaking! No previous experience required. The groups meet every other Thursday at the Old Fire Station (from 10.30am to 12.30pm) and the Stress Project (from 13.30pm to 15.30pm).
Taking part in creative activity is now recognised as one of the best ways to help your personal wellbeing - so come along - we would love to meet you! Experiment with materials, try something new, our tutors James, Oriana, Priti and Apollonia will help you to find your way.
What participants say:
'I feel that Art isn't something that I fit into. However I'm very pleased that I tried having a go at it as if I hadn't tried at it then I'd have never known how i felt about it and it was definitely enjoyable having the experience.'
'Love it! So happy & grateful this (Creative Writing) class has begun. The programme to come sounds really good.'
'Really loved the flower arranging - it was focussed and mindful in a really soothing way.'
Groups run until August 2019 when we will hold an exhibition to celebrate the work of everyone who has joined in.
